Centenary Hill is Selected from a handful of low yielding vineyards in close proximity to the creek (Jacob’s Creek) in Rowland Flat. The type of fruit sought for Centenary Hill Shiraz is often found in Koch’s Willandra vineyard on the south-east banks of Jacob’s Creek, where some of the vines exceed 90 years. Wine Style is a densely textured full bodied Shiraz displaying rich ripe plum, dark chocolate-like Barossa fruit with notes of spice and generous soft tannins. Barrel maturation occurs in specially selected new and one-year old French and American oak hogsheads for 20 to 24 months. Tasting Note: Full bodied, yet soft and supple with ripe berry fruit flavours, well integrated stylish oak, leading to a long, fine finish
A bold ripe nose reflecting the excellent 2012 vintage. Carefully selected oak adds cedar notes and a touch of char to round out an impressive nose. Fine grained tannins and well integrated oak give a lovely texture, leading to long finish. An outstanding vintage in the classic Centenary Hill style.
